SARTRE’IN SUNDUĞU ETİK MODELE GÖRE “ODA” ÖYKÜSÜNÜN ANALİZİ

Abstract

I. ve II. Dünya Savaşlarının derin izlerini üzerinde taşıyan Fransız filozof Sartre, en yüce değer olarak gördüğü insanın özgürlüğünü savunmuş ve hayatı boyunca özgürlükleri tehdit eden unsurlara karşı eylemlerde bulunmuş ve bir yandan da bu amaçla farklı türlerde eserler kaleme almıştır. Onun, tiyatro eserleri, deneme, roman ve öykü tarzlarında kaleme aldığı edebi türden eserleri de bulunmaktadır. Metinlerinde modern insanın açmazlarını da konu edinen Sartre’ın bu amaçla yazdığı eserlerinden biri de ‘Oda’ adlı öyküsüdür. Bu çalışmada onun “Oda” adlı öyküsünden yola çıkılarak etik model üzerinden eleştirel bir analiz yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Sartre’ın, hikâye kahramanı olan Eve ve onun yaptığı tercihler ile şekillenen öyküsünde ana tema olarak insan özgürlüğünün tek ve en önemli değer olduğu ve insanın içinde bulunduğu ikilem durumu ile bu ikilem karşısında yaptığı tercihi konu edilmiştir. Sartre’a göre, yaşamda her an seçimlerle karşı karşıya geliyoruz. Bu durumda bir tercihte bulunmak zorundayız. Öyküde Eve de, seçeneklerle karşı karşıya gelmektedir. Bu çalışmada öykünün başkahramanı Eve’nin karşı karşıya kaldığı ikilem durumu ve bu durum karşısında verdiği karar üzerinden Sartre’ın sunduğu etik model analiz edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonunda Sartre’ın, insanlığa sunduğu etik modelin yetersiz olduğu yönünde değerlendirmede bulunulmuştur.The French philosopher Sartre, who carried the deep scars of World Wars I and II, defended the freedom of the human, which he perceived as the highest of values, and he protested against factors that threatened freedoms his entire life, as well as penning works of different kinds to that end. He has literary works in the media of theater, essays, novels and stories. Sartre, who portrays the dilemmas of the modern individual in his texts, has written the story “Room” for this purpose as well. This study aims to critically evaluate the ethical model via his story “Room”. The story, which is shaped by the protagonist Eve and the choices that she makes, has as its main theme the place of human freedom as the sole and most important vale, the dilemma the individual finds themselves in, and the choice they make when confronted with this dilemma. According to Sartre, we are faced with choices in every moment of life, thus we have to make a choice. In the story, Eve is also confronted with choices. In this study, the ethical model presented by Sartre is analyzed through the dilemma faced by the protagonist Eve and the choice she makes in face of this situation. In the conclusion of the study, the model Sartre presents humanity with is found to be insufficient.
