The Cupressacea family, in the form of coniferous trees and shrubs, is a large family with 32 genera. The perennial Juniperus genus belonging to this family has different species that can be distinguished from each other by their berry cone and leaf structures. Juniperus drupacea Labill. is an Eastern Mediterranean plant locally known as “andız.” In this study, it was aimed to obtain essential oil from berry cones collect-ed from Antalya-Akseki in the Mediterranean Region by microwave-assisted extraction and characterize the berry cone essential oil by gas chromatography (GC)-mass spectrometry (MS) analysis. Additionally, phytotherapeutic usage of berry cone molasses was evaluated. As a result of the analysis, ?- pinene (23,27%), ?-myrcene (17,3%), ?-cedrol (7,43%), D-limonene (7,41%), germacrene D (5,04%), caryo-phyllene (% 3,52) were identified as the active ingredient. These six main components represent 62% of the phytochemical composition of berry cones essential oil. The molasses traditionally produced from Juniperus drupacea Labill. is a functional food product with high nutritional value that has been used for its effectiveness in respiratory ailments and certain infections, a practice that has continued to the present day. It is known to be used as a drug for nutrition and health purposes across a wide geography in Anato-lia.
