In this study, the effect of replacing the traditional fluorescent lighting system with LED luminaires on energy consumption is analyzed through experimental measurements carried out in a pilot office in a public administrative building. The experimental study lasted two weeks. In the first week, the room is illuminated with fluorescent luminaires, and in the second week, LED luminaires installed instead of fluorescent luminaires. During this process, the electrical energy consumption is obtained with the help of data collected with a microcontroller, sensors, and energy meters for two different operating conditions. The electrical energy-saving potential in the pilot office is calculated by taking into account the daylight and occupancy conditions in the office. In addition, the energy saving potential results of the building are presented based on data in the pilot office. As a result of the calculations, it is seen that the energy saving potential of the lighting with LED luminaires is higher than the lighting with fluorescent luminaires. Thus, the measurement system, which is an important part of lighting systems, has been successfully obtained. © 2025 IEEE.
