Quercus spp. Scolytinae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) fauna is found in forests: Oltu Sample

Abstract

Some insect species to cause damage constantly, while others cause damage periodically. Among these pest in-sects, species belonging to the Scolytinae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) family have a particularly important place. This study was conducted on Quercus spp. in Erzurum Oltu region. Scolytinae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) fauna and flight periods of some important species in the forests are examined. After sampling studies conducted with red sticky traps, Anisandrus dispar, Scolytus intricatus, Scolytus rugulosus, Trypodendron signatum ve Xylebori-nus saxesenii species were identified. In addition, it was determined that the species detected were of new records for the Oltu region. The flight periods of Anisandrus dispar and Xyleborinus saxesenii, which had the highest population sizes in comparison to the other species, were determined. The findings provide compilation infor-mation on the management of harmful species and contribute to improving measures for sustainable forest man-agement and biodiversity conservation. This study is a basic reference that will enable the development of man-agement and conservation strategies for other regions with similar ecological conditions to Oltu region.Zararlı böcek grupları arasında, Scolytinae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) familyasına ait türler önemli bir yer tut-maktadır. Bu çalışma, Erzurum Oltu yöresi Quercus spp. ormanlarında bulunan Scolytinae (Coleoptera: Curculio-nidae) faunasını ve bazı önemli türlerin uçuş periyotlarını incelemektedir. Bu kapsamda kırmızı renkli yapışkan tuzaklar kullanılarak yapılan örnekleme çalışmaları ile Anisandrus dispar, Scolytus intricatus, Scolytus rugulo-sus, Trypodendron signatum ve Xyleborinus saxesenii türleri tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca tespit edilen bu türlerin Oltu yöresi için yeni kayıt niteliğinde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu türlerden popülasyon yoğunluğu yüksek olan Anisandrus dispar ve Xyleborinus saxesenii’nin uçuş periyotları tespit edilmiştir. Bulgular, zararlı türlerin yönetimi ile ilgili stratejik bilgiler sunmakta olup, sürdürülebilir orman yönetimi ve biyoçeşitliliğin korunmasına yönelik önlemlerin geliştirilmesine katkıda bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışma, Oltu yöresine benzer ekolojik koşullara sahip diğer bölgeler için de yönetim ve koruma stratejileri geliştirilmesine olanak tanıyacaktır.
