A Smart Decision Maker for Energy Efficient Landscape Designs

Abstract

In this study, a fuzzy logic based smart decision making algorithm has been developed and simulated for landscape designs to be used in natural air conditioning applications for energy saving purposes. The plants planted around the building should be the type to provide shade and coolness in summer and allow sunlight to pass through in winter, as well as have heights and trunk widths to provide shade so that they do not obstruct the view. The decisions that an expert landscape architect should make while making natural air conditioning designs are modeled in a fuzzy logic-based decision-making algorithm and simulated in this study. The developed smart decision-making algorithm is a contributed approach in landscape designs for natural air conditioning. © 2022 IEEE.
