Özet
The Fuzzy Set extensions (FSEs) have been offered for better modeling of the uncertainties having different natures. To obtain reliable results, an appropriate FSE should be decided. Most of the studies in the literature do not conceptually analyze the nature of the uncertainty and decide on an FSE pre-step of the study without expressing an apparent reason. They content themselves with assuming that this is the case, without even discussing the suitability of the FSE for the scenario. Therefore, the quality of the obtained results becomes questionable. In the scope of this study, well-known FSEs considering indeterminacy are conceptually analyzed and compared in terms of applicability, ease of calculation, number of assumptions, and considered scenario to make their differences visible. In this way, it is aimed to contribute to the simplification of the selection of a suitable FSE in modeling. The analysis shows that some FSEs have clear advantages over others. The FSE selection greatly affects the reliability of the results and the long-term success of the model. © 2023
