Özet
Nowadays, a lot of research works have been conducted in the field of crashworthiness in order to define crash performance of vehicles and crash boxes. In this study, a new crash box designis developed to improve crash performance of vehicles during frontal impact. In this research, maximum peak force and amount of the energy absorption of the crash box are chosen as objective function. Numerical studies include determination of energy absorption characteristics of different geometries like triggers of crash boxes.
