Yüksek fırın cürufu ve bor atıklarından üretilen tek bileşenli geopolimer harçların dayanımına yüksek sıcaklığın etkisi

Abstract

Bu tezde, yüksek fırın cürufu ve bor madeni atıklarından üretilen tek bileşenli geopolimer harçların dayanımına yüksek sıcaklığın etkisi araştırılmıştır. Laboratuvarda yüksek fırın cürufuna yüzde 30, 50, 70 ve 90 oranında Kırka bor madeni atığı ilave edilerek tek bileşenli geopolimer harç numuneleri üretilmiştir. Bor madeni atığı %4, %8 ve %12 Na2O içeren aktivatör ile karıştırılmıştır. Numune üretiminde alkali füzyon yöntemi kullanılmış ve bor madeni atığı 650 oC'de 3 saat kalsine edilmiştir. Kalsine edilen malzeme havada ani soğutmaya tabi tutulmuştur. Numune üretimi sırasında hedeflenen aralıkta kalıp kalmadığını kontrol etmek için yayılma değerleri ölçülmüştür. Üretilen bir grup numune 28, 56 ve 90 gün boyunca oda sıcaklığında tutulmuştur. Daha sonra bu numunelerin 28, 56 ve 90. günlerde basınç dayanımları ölçülmüştür. Diğer bir grup numune ise 28. günün sonunda 300, 600, 900 oC gibi yüksek sıcaklıklarda 1 ve 3 saat bekletildikten sonra soğumaya bırakılarak basınç dayanımları ölçülmüştür. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre; harçtaki kalsine bor madeni atığı miktarı arttıkça hedeflenen akış değerlerine ulaşılabilmesi için su miktarının da artması gerektiği gözlemlenmiştir. 650 oC'de 3 saat kalsine edilmiş Kırka bor madeni atığı ve %50 yüksek fırın cürufu kullanılarak hazırlanan numunelerden 56 gün oda sıcaklığında kür yapılması sonucunda 40-44 MPa basınç dayanımı elde edilmiştir. Bu sonuç, bor madeni atığının yüksek fırın cürufuyla birlikte kullanılmasıyla üretilen tek bileşenli geopolimer bağlayıcının iyi bir mekanik performansa sahip olduğunu ve oda sıcaklığında da sertleşebildiğini göstermektedir. Ayrıca 900 oC'de 1 saat yüksek sıcaklığa maruz kalmanın bazı karışımların (K90-8, K70-12 ve K90-12) basınç dayanımını arttırdığı görülmüştür. Bu artış K90-8 grubunda 3 saatlik maruziyette daha yüksek oranda meydana gelmiştir. Bu çalışma sonucunda bor madeni atığı ve yüksek fırın cürufundan üretilen tek bileşenli geopolimer bağlayıcının kombinasyonu ile üretilen harçlarda yüksek sıcaklığın etkisi ortaya konularak optimum karışım oranları belirlenmiştir. Böylece bor madeni atıklarının geopolimer harç ve betonlarda kullanılmasına olası bir alan açılarak karbon ayak izinin azaltılmasına katkı sağlanabilir.In this thesis, the effect of high temperature on the strength of one-part geopolymer mortars produced from blast furnace slag and boron mine waste was investigated. In the laboratory, one-part geopolymer mortar samples were produced by adding 30, 50, 70 and 90 percent Kırka boron mine waste to blast furnace slag. Boron mine waste was mixed with activator containing 4%, 8% and 12% Na2O. Alkali fusion method was used in sample production and boron mine waste was calcined at 650 oC for 3 hours. The calcined material was subjected to sudden cooling in air. During sample production, a flow table test was performed to check that it remained within the targeted range. A group of samples produced were kept at room temperature for 28, 56 and 90 days. Then, compressive strengths were obtained at 28, 56 and 90 days. Another group of samples was left to cool down after being kept at high temperatures of 300, 600, 900 oC for 1 and 3 hours at the end of the 28th day and their compressive strength was measured. According to the results obtained; it has been observed that as the amount of calcined boron mine waste in the mortar increases, the amount of water must also increase in order to achieve the targeted flow values. A compressive strength of 40-44 MPa was obtained as a result of 56 days of room temperature curing from the samples using Kırka boron mine waste calcined for 3 hours at 650 oC and 50% blast furnace slag. This result showed that the one-part geopolymer binder produced by using boron mine waste together with blast furnace slag has good mechanical performance and can also set at room temperature. Moreover, it has been observed that exposure to high temperatures at 900 oC for 1 hour increases the compressive strength of some mixtures (K90-8, K70-12 and K90-12). This increase occurred at a higher rate in the K90-8 group at 3 hours of exposure. As a result of this study, the optimum mixing ratios were determined by revealing the effect of high temperature on the mortars produced with the combination of one-part geopolymer binder produced from boron mine waste and blast furnace slag. Thus, a possible area can be opened for the use of boron mine wastes in geopolymer mortars and concretes, thus contributing to the reduction of carbon footprint.
