THE EFFECT OF BASIC OHS TRAININGS OF VOCATIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTS ON CREATING OHS PERCEPTION: A UNIVERSITY EXAMPLE

Abstract

The main purpose of Occupational Health and Safety, which has an increasing importance due to the intense work pace in the changing working life after the digital transformation of production, is to create healthy and safe working environments by protecting people from work accidents and occupational diseases. The main purpose of this study is to determine the perception levels of students studying at a University Vocational School of Technical Sciences as a result of the Occupational Health and Safety Courses they take. This research, which is a descriptive analysis, was carried out with a total of 350 participants from five different programs studying at a University Technical Sciences Vocational School. A 5-point Likert-type, 33-item questionnaire form was sent to the participants during the lesson with a Google Forms link. 333 usable forms were taken into consideration. 46.8% of the participants are vocational high school graduates. 46.8% of them have information about the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331. 96% of them stated that paying attention to Occupational Health and Safety will contribute positively to their work efficiency. The OHS perceptions of the students studying in the occupational health and safety program were high as expected. According to the results of the study, the Occupational Health and Safety course they took reveals that the students are more knowledgeable about occupational health and safety in their own fields of interest.Üretimin dijital dönüşüme geçmesinin ardından değişen çalışma hayatında, yoğun iş temposu nedeniyle giderek artan bir öneme sahip olan İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği konusunun temel amacı kişileri iş kazalarından ve meslek hastalıklarından koruyarak, sağlıklı ve güvenli çalışma ortamlarının oluşturulmasıdır. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, bir üniversitenin Teknik Bilimler Meslek Yüksekokulunda öğrenim gören öğrencilerin aldıkları İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Dersleri sonucunda algı düzeylerinin belirlenmesidir. Betimsel analiz niteliğindeki bu araştırma, üniversitenin Teknik Bilimler Meslek Yüksek Okulu’nda öğrenim gören beş ayrı programdan toplam 350 katılımcı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. 5’li Likert tipinde 33 maddelik anket formu katılımcılara ders esnasında Google Forms linki gönderilmiştir.K ullanılabilir 333 form değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Katılımcıların %47’si meslek lisesi mezunudur. %46,8’inin 6331 sayılı İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Kanununu hakkında bilgisi vardır. %96’sı İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliğine dikkat edilmesinin iş verimine olumlu katkıda bulunacağını belirtmiştir. İş sağlığı ve güvenliği programında öğrenim gören öğrencilerin programları gereği İSG algıları beklenilen şekilde yüksek çıkmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucuna göre, aldıkları İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği dersi, öğrencilerin kendi ilgi alanlarında iş sağlığı ve güvenliği ile ilgili olarak daha bilgili oldukları sonucunu ortaya çıkarmaktadır.
