THE FORCES THAT ARE EFFECTING GLOBAL COMPETITIVENES IN BUSINESSES AND TURQUALITY ACCORDING TO NATIONAL COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

Abstract

Features as being the first and only program in this field, of Turquality Program that is applied for giving competitiveness to Turkish companies in the global markets, reveals the importance of examining the national competitive advantage in terms of Turquality. The aim of this study is investigating the impact of the Turquality Program on to have national competitive advantage that is necessary for companies to compete in global markets. In the scope of the research, in-depth interviews have been made with three furniture companies who have well-known brands in the furniture industry in Turkey and are under Turquality. Also, analyze of the furniture export’s data that are at the scale of the World, Turkey and companies, has been made to examine multi-dimensional of relationship between Turquality Program and national competitive advantage. As a result of research, it has been determined that Turquality has limited effect in providing national competitive advantage to the companies within the program.Türkiye’deki işletmelerin küresel pazarlarda rekabet edebilmesi için uygulanan Turquality Programı’nın alanında ilk ve tek olma özelliği, ulusal rekabet avantajının Turquality açısından incelenmesinin önemini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Turquality Programı’nın işletmelerin küresel pazarlarda rekabet edebilmeleri için gerekli olan ulusal rekabet avantajına sahip olmalarına etkisinin ortaya konmasıdır. Araştırma kapsamında, Turquality Programı’nda olan ve Türkiye mobilya sektöründe bilinen markalara sahip üç mobilya firması ile derinlemesine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Ayrıca, dünya, Türkiye ve firma ölçeklerinde mobilya ihracat verileri analiz edilerek, ulusal rekabet avantajı elde edilmesiyle Turquality Programı’nın arasındaki ilişkinin çok boyutlu incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, Turquality’nin, program dâhilindeki işletmelere ulusal rekabet avantajı sağlamada sınırlı etkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
