dc.description.abstractThere are many different definitions of the concept of “terror” in international literature. David Rapoport has classified modern terror into four waves. The fourth of these waves, the “religious wave”, is expected to end around 2026. In this context, the aim of the article is to explain the predictions that the religious wave will soon end and to examine the centrality of Islamic-disguised terrorism within the religious wave. There are publications in the international literature on the development of Islamic-disguised terrorism, but the subject has not been sufficiently examined within the framework of Rapoport’s theory. In addition, the reason for writing this article is to fill the information gap caused by the lack of sufficient discussion in the literature about the prediction that the religious wave will end in a few years.
dc.description.abstractUluslararası literatürde pek çok farklı tanımlaması yapılan “terör” kavramı David Rapoport tarafından dört aşamada sınıflandırılmıştır. Rapoport’un teorisine göre; 1880’li yıllarda başlayan “anarşist dalga”, 1920’lerde başlayan “sömürge karşıtı dalga”, 1960’lı yıllarda başlayan “yeni sol dalga” ve 1979’da başlayan “dinî dalga”nın her biri yaklaşık 40 yıllık periyotlarda gelişmiş ve sonlanmıştır. Rapoport’a göre; bu periyodik döngünün sabit olması halinde, günümüzde hâlâ devam eden dinî dalga yaklaşık 2026 yılı civarında sona erecektir. Bu bilgiler ışığında çalışmanın amacı; dinî dalganın yakında sona ereceğine dair öngörüleri ve İslam dininden kaynaklandığı iddia edilen terörün dinî dalga içindeki konumunu incelemektir. Uluslararası literatürde İslamî görünümlü terörün gelişimine dair çalışmalar bulunmakla birlikte, konunun Rapoport’un dinî dalga modeli çerçevesinde yeterince ele alınmadığı görülmüştür. Bununla birlikte, içinde bulunduğumuz birkaç yıl içinde dinî dalganın sona ereceğine dair öngörünün Türkçe literatürde tartışılmamasından kaynaklanan bilgi eksikliğinin giderilmesine katkı sunmak gayesi bu çalışmanın hazırlanmasında etkili olmuştur.
